November, 2006  Kuwaiti women took part in the elections



On June 29th, Kuwaiti women took part in the National Assembly elections for the first time. The number of candidates were 252, including 28 women who didn't win any seat. Following the polls, the Cabinet resigned on July 1st. H.H Sheikh Nasser Mohammed Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was re-appointed to Prime Minister. The new Cabinet was approved by the Amir on July 10th. Ms. Massouma Al-Mubarak, former Minister for Planning cum Minister of State for Administrative Development affairs, was appointed to Minister of Communications in the new Cabinet.
