Visit Visa

Upon Instructions of the Ministry of Interior , the nationals of the following countries shall be granted entry visas to the state of Kuwait upon their arrival to Kuwait international airport:

The United States of America, The United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Canada Australia, New Zealand, Japan, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Finland, Spain, Monaco, Vatican, Iceland, Andorra, San Marino, Liechtenstein, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Korea, China, Poland.

• The concerned authorities in the state of Kuwait shall reserve the right to refuse admitting any person into the country without explanation.
• Passenger should not be black listed in the state of Kuwait.
• Passenger should be holding a passport valid for more than 6 months from the date of travel to Kuwait. Blank space is needed at least two facing pages.
• Passenger should register his residence address in Kuwait when applying for the visa at visas counter at the airport.
• The required fee is 6 Kuwaiti Dinar.
  The fee is subject to change without prior notice.
• All visas are valid for 1 month from the date of entry.
• Visa is valid for ONE ENTRY ONLY.
• No multiple entry or transit visa issued.
• Applicants other than the above 34 nationals must apply N.O.C. (No Objection Certificate) through their sponsor in Kuwait prior to their departure. To apply N.O.C., inform your sponsor in Kuwait (visiting company/organization or a hotel which you will stay can be a sponsor) of applicant’s data (Passport information, purpose of visit, period of visit, and so on). Then the sponsor will apply N.O.C. at Immigration office, Ministry of Interior, Kuwait. As N.O.C. is issued, the copy of N.O.C. will be sent to the applicant so that the applicant can enter Kuwait with it.

Business Visa (Japanese passport holders)

• A passport with minimum of six month validity. Blank space is needed at least two facing pages.
• Passport copy showing applicant’s basic data such as full name, Passport number, photo, and so on.
• One application form completed and signed by the applicant. (CLICK HERE)
• One photograph (3 x 3.5 cm)
• Request Letter from Japanese firm describing the nature of work, length of stay, and reference in Kuwait. (in English)
• Invitation letter from Kuwait. (Copy acceptable)
• The required fee is 10,000 Yen for single entry, 20,000 Yen for multiple entries. The fee must be paid by cash.
• All visas are valid for 3 months (single entry) / 6 months (multiple entry) from the date of issue and 1 month duration of stay.
• You will be contacted once there is any inconvenience.

Diplomatic / Official VISA (Japanese passport holders)

• Diplomatic or Official passport with minimum of 6 months validity. Blank space is needed at least two facing pages.
• Passport copy showing applicant’s basic data such as full name, Passport number, photo, and so on.
• One application form completed and signed by the applicant (CLICK HERE)
• One photograph (3 x 3.5 cm)
• Original diplomatic note, describing the nature of work, length of stay, and reference in Kuwait.
• All visas are valid for 3 months from the date of issue and 1 month duration of stay.
• You will be contacted once there is any inconvenience.

Work Permit Visa (Japanese passport holders)

※Please apply for your Work permit at the Ministry of Labor of Kuwait through your sponsor in Kuwait. Work Permit has to be authorized by the Ministry of Interior before delivered to applicant. After that, please bring the followings to the Embassy.

• A Passport with minimum of 6 months validity. 　Blank space is needed at least two facing pages.
• Passport copy showing applicant’s basic data such as full name, Passport number, photo, and so on.
• One application form completed and signed by the applicant (CLICK HERE)
• One photograph (3 x 3.5 cm)
• WORK Permit (Paper authorized by Immigration department, Ministry of Interior in Kuwait will be sent to applicant from employer in Kuwait prior to applying for a visa at the Embassy.)
• Medical certificate (in English) including the result of HIV test, Hepatitis B & C, and X-ray test.
• Police Clearance Certificate issued from your local police station.
• Medical certificate and police certificate must be legalized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan prior to applying at the Embassy.
• A fee 25,000 Yen. The fee must be paid by cash.
• All applicants are required to contact the Embassy to confirm if the Embassy has received an approval before coming to the Embassy to apply.

Family Visa (Japanese passport holders)

• A Passport with minimum of 6 months validity. Blank space is needed at least two facing pages.
• Passport copy showing applicant’s basic data such as full name, Passport number, photo, and so on.
• One application form completed and signed by the applicant (CLICK HERE)
• One passport size photograph
• FAMILY VISA (Paper authorized by Immigration department, Ministry of Interior in Kuwait will be send to applicant from the sponsor in Kuwait prior to applying for a visa at the Embassy.)
• Medical certificate including the result of HIV test, Hepatitis B and C and X-ray test.
• Police Clearance Certificate issued within 3 months when entering Kuwait from your local police station.
• Medical certificate and Police Clearance Certificate must be legalized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan prior to applying at the Embassy.
• A fee 15,000 Yen. The fee must be paid by cash.

Pick-up date

Business VISA / Diplomatic & Official VISA (for short stay) / Work Permit / Family VISA ･･･at least 2 working days later
Diplomatic & Official VISA (to be assigned for Japan Embassy in Kuwait) ･･･ approximately 10 days later

※All applicants are required to verify by phone if visa is ready prior to pick-up.
